Our Services

An occupational therapy functional capacity assessment evaluates a person’s physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities to perform everyday tasks. An FCA helps determine what types of supports people require to achieve optimal wellbeing and independence.

Functional Capacity Assessments

Home and Living assessments help determine what supports a person needs to live as independently as possible. This assessment will also explore whether specific environmental adaptations are required to enable a person to live independently and comfortably in their home.

Home and Living Assessments

Skills Building Therapy

Regular skills-building therapy supports a person to develop skills, and learn strategies to increase their independence in daily living, and reach their goals. An OT tailors the interventions to match the strengths and abilities of the person.

Cognitive Assessments

Cognitive assessments evaluates thinking process, such as memory, attention, and problem solving. An OT also understands how these functions affect daily life tasks.

First, a sensory assessment is conducted to explores a individual’s neurological sensory needs and preferences. Then, specific strategies are implemented to enable a person to maximise their function and wellbeing. These can include environmental adaptations, sensory routines, or crisis plans that utilise sensory techniques.

Sensory Interventions

OTs work with individuals, their families, and support teams to build knowledge, skills, and confidence in everyday activities. This may include guidance on managing symptoms, using adaptive equipment, and optimising routines. Through practical education and training, everyone is empowered to foster independence, promote safety, and enhance overall participation and well-being.

Training and Education

An OT assesses a person’s physical and cognitive skills, as well as their usual environments (home, work, school). This assessment helps determine what equipment and devices promote active participation in life activities, and enable a person to live with greater independence.
