About Us
Donna Cavallaro is an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in mental health, psychosocial disabilities, and adult therapy. She takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, helping individuals build independence, confidence, and meaningful lives.
Donna holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Occupational Therapy from Flinders University. She began her career in the SA Health Allied Health Mental Health Internship Programme, a year-long specialised training programme in mental health OT. Since then, she has worked across inpatient psychiatric facilities, psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), eating disorder services, community mental health, and rural health settings, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
She also led a pioneering project as a Project Officer, implementing a Sensory Modulation Room in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit—a novel, evidence-based initiative designed to support people in acute mental health crises.

Donna has worked in private practice for three years, including two years as the founder of Imity Health Services. She established her mobile OT service to provide ethical, client-centred care that prioritises quality over quantity. Her work is deeply rooted in neuroaffirming, strengths-based therapy, focusing on empowerment and independence rather than dependence.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Donna has a passion for healthcare leadership. She has completed a Certificate in Business Administration and is currently working towards her Master of Business Administration (MBA) to further enhance her ability to develop sustainable, client-focused services.
She is committed to working with adults seeking to build life skills, increase independence, and navigate mental health challenges in a way that aligns with their strengths and values.
We work with service providers who share our commitment to:
Quality over quantity – We focus on meaningful, effective, personalised therapy, not just ticking boxes or filling schedules.
Ethical, client-centred care – Clients are people, not numbers. We prioritise ethical practice and always work with the client’s best interests at heart.
Neuroaffirming approaches – We value and respect people for who they are, while also recognising and addressing the challenges that some disabilities and conditions bring.
Strengths-based therapy – Every client brings unique strengths, abilities, and personality, and we aim to build on these rather than focus solely on deficits.
Promoting independence – Our goal is to foster autonomy, not create dependence. We focus on practical, sustainable strategies that support long-term success.
Our Values
At Imity Health Services, we’re not a big company, and that’s exactly how we like it. Being small, local, and independent means we can offer a personalised service, where you’re seen, heard, and supported in a way that makes sense for you. We have consciously moved away from the generic, ‘cookie-cutter’ approach, choosing instead to offer an intuitive and personalised service.
We believe in quality over quantity, people over profits, and therapy that actually helps, not just ticks boxes. We work with other providers who share these values because we’re not interested in churning through clients—we’re here to make a real difference.
